Len has worked in the health policy field for over 20 years focusing on public insurance programs, hospital uncompensated care, public health and the health care workforce. He is the Associate Director of the California Department of Health Care Services. Previously, he was a Senior Program Officer at the California Health Care Foundation specializing in access to health services for underserved populations. Len received his Doctor of Public Health degree from the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan. His research has been published in Health Affairs, Academic Medicine, American Journal of Public Health, the Journal of General Internal Medicine, and Public Health Reports. Len is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Community Health Education at San Francisco State University
