Measuring the success of product development and distribution programs requires rigorous methodologies for quantifying impacts on end-user health and socio-economic parameters. We believe that this third step of the Aquaya pipeline is essential for obtaining science-based evidence of successful innovations and building support for their uptake. Currently, epidemiological studies are increasingly applied to field test new water treatment strategies, particularly at the household level. These field trials help to determine the efficacy of these measures under experimental conditions, but they do not provide information on the effectiveness of these same products during real-life use. Aquaya's research projects aim to address this gap. We are currently conducting an epidemiological study to measure the effectiveness of a long-term water, sanitation, and hygiene intervention: |
