Alicia joined Aquaya in 2007 to oversee fieldwork for an evaluation of the sustainability and impacts of water, sanitation, and hygiene interventions in Tamil Nadu, India and to coordinate field activities within the Aquatest program.
Prior to joining Aquaya, Alicia did research with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and CARE International Indonesia on household water treatment and handwashing studies and with the World Health Organization’s European Centre for Environment and Health on microbial contaminants in drinking water.
Alicia also served as a community development, rural sanitation, and health educator with the U.S. Peace Corps in Bolivia and worked with Crisis Corps in Honduras to rehabilitate water services damaged by Hurricane Mitch.
Alicia holds graduate degrees in public health and environmental management from Yale University.
