Manages Field Programs for the Aquatest Project
Zarah joined Aquaya in 2009 to manage field pilots of the Aquatest water quality diagnostic with a global range of potential end-users. Zarah’s work includes the identification and recruitment of institutional partners who will be the first users of the Aquatest device. She is also collaborating with Aquatest consortium members to apply field-use experiences towards both device refinement and dissemination activities.
Prior to joining Aquaya, Zarah worked as a researcher at the Hanoi School of Public Health and at the Clinton Foundation in Vietnam as a Henry Luce Scholar.
Previously, Zarah traveled to Aceh, Indonesia to conduct field research on resettlement after the 2004 tsunami. She returned to Aceh in 2008 with grants from the National Geographic Expeditions Council and the Seven Fund to research and document natural resource extraction, tropical forest conservation and local livelihoods.
Zarah has a degree in Development Studies from Brown University.
