Strengthening local capacity for water safety management

Sub-Saharan Africa

The African Water Association (AfWA) is a professional association of African Water Utilities that strengthens the professional capacity of its members to realize its vision of providing safe drinking water and sanitation services across the continent. AfWA has over 100 members from 40 African countries.

The taskforce serves as a knowledge management outlet through which Aquaya can both disseminate key MfSW findings directly to the most relevant stakeholders and support a growing interest in water quality monitoring among African water suppliers. The Task Force promotes effective water quality monitoring and data management among AfWA’s membership and builds the capacity of its members to themselves articulate and advocate for policies that improve and advance water quality management. It is also a venue for collaborative research initiatives and joint publication.
