Monitoring for Safe Water is a new three-year effort to promote comprehensive water testing for improved water quality management across sub-Saharan Africa. The program will provide resources, knowledge, and technical assistance to collaborating water suppliers and public health surveillance agencies in multiple countries. In addition to this support, we will work with collaborating institutions to study how the following factors can influence the scale-up of microbial water quality testing:

  • institutional arrangements
  • policies and regulations
  • program methodologies
  • implementation capacity
  • availability of products, tools and information
  • financing and incentives
  • data management and information flows
